Miscanthus 'Adagio' (Adagio Maiden Grass)

Description:
Miscanthus 'Adagio' (Miscanthus sinensis 'Adagio') is a compact, elegant ornamental grass prized for its fine-textured, silver-green foliage and graceful, arching habit. This dwarf Maiden Grass forms dense, rounded clumps that typically reach 3–4 feet tall (up to 5 feet with blooms) and 3–4 feet wide, making it ideal for borders, mass plantings, containers, or as a striking accent in smaller gardens. In late summer, 'Adagio' produces airy, bronze-pink plumes that rise above the foliage, gradually maturing to soft, silvery-white and persisting through winter for lasting interest. The foliage turns golden-yellow or orange in fall, adding seasonal color and movement to the landscape.

Exceptionally hardy and low maintenance, 'Adagio' thrives in full sun and well-drained soils but adapts to a variety of soil types, including clay and sand. It is drought tolerant once established, deer resistant, and provides excellent erosion control. Its year-round beauty and versatility make it a favorite for both formal and naturalistic gardens.
